RichW9090
Sundarbans famous for their tigers. Mangroves are favorite habitat for a number of species of oyster. They often attach to the roots of the mangrove. Edited January 28, 2015 by RichW9090 The plural of "anecdote" is not "evidence".
izak_
I'm with Rich. Is it a fossil? Welcome to TFF!
Ludwigia
Definitely an oyster valve. If we listen to Rich, it may not even be a fossil in the classical sense, but rather something more recent. Now that you mention it, I did know that at one point. My people are from Switzerland, and the Sonderbund (similar word) was a Protestant against Catholic war in the 1800's.
