It was an amazing trip with lots of fine treasures being found on all 3 days.

Special thanks to Travis for the use of his screen stand and pick.

As I get the time I will post more of My finds-- including whatever is in the 11 buckets of screened dirt I took to look for micro things.

Y'all have a good day.

Tony

PS Any help with ID's is greatly appreciated.

Y'know, Hemipristis is not all that abundant there...

Looks like you had fun!

Tony,

That would be years of collecting at Scotts Valley with jars of other teeth and bones worn to nubs. That part of Bakersfield is a shark tooth paradise. I'm glad you got to experience it especially since you are well aware of how hard it has become to find one nice tooth elsewhere in California.

  • 2 weeks later...

If you need assistance with ID of anything from STH, I am pretty well versed with the fossils of that site and I LOVE the micro from there. I am presenting to the Dallas Paleo Society on STH this April and am a member of the Buena Vista Museum and friends with many local experts. If I cannot ID a fossil for you, I know some real experts who can. PM me if I can be of assistance.

Jon,

If there is a write-up of your presentation to the Dallas Paleo Society, please let us know. I (and several others here) would like to read it. I have a friend who dug the bonebed back in the 60's (collected with Edward Mitchell) and he still likes to keep up on what people are saying about it.
