Jesuslover340
Looks to be a Meg tooth "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another."-Romans 14:

Auspex
Given the 'Mickey Mouse ear' root lobes, I would not rule out C. angustidens. Bgatt3
I didn't know if that was from just being worn down so much or if it wasn't like the other megladon I've found ... It's bigger so I didn't have anything physically to compare it to
megaholic
Auspex is right, there is no way to tell the difference now, beyond just a worn shark tooth. "A man who asks is a fool for five minutes. A man who never asks is a fool for life".
Bgatt3
I thought he meant it possibly could be... I understand it's just a worn tooth but it's the biggest tooth I have found and I'm sure there is a way to tell... Sometimes I wish some would remember what it felt like to find a big decent one even if it is worn... :/ discouraging sometimes to keep hearing it's just a worn tooth...thank you to those who understand and help us amateurs try to figure these out
Bgatt3
Thank you auspex for your incite... I was wondering because it's a bigger kind of v instead of more straight across?..
Auspex
Thank you auspex for your incite... I was wondering because it's a bigger kind of v instead of more straight across?.. Someone here coined the phrase "Mickey Mouse ears" years ago to describe C. Angustidens root lobes; I found it memorable and useful. Wear in a fossil in no way diminishes the thrill of discovery; this is a honking big tooth! All it does is make a positive ID a lot harder. ynot
I wish I could find a tooth like that!! My biggest meg is less than 2 inches with no root. Be happy with all that You find!
