edwardr
Found this sticking out of Miocene clay in Gainesville's Beville Creek. I collected a lot of other stuff that day, including some mammalian bone fragments -- but this thing is quite odd. fossilized6s
Welcome! It looks like a partial manatee or dugong rib that hadn't found it's way into the river to get the famous Florida brown patina. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG

Cluros
The shape looks like dugong rib fragments that I have collected in the Peace River.
megaholic
I would also say Dugong rib. "A man who asks is a fool for five minutes. A man who never asks is a fool for life".
Auspex
RE: resizing... This copy was cropped a bit, and reduced to 30% of original size: Done with the basic photo editor that came with the computer, and took about 2 minutes. Easy!
