1 looks like a trilobite free cheek to me. You can see the eye and genal spine.

2 looks like a piece of chert (flint).

It must have been a very large one then, judging by the Euro coin lying under it. I'm still not quite convinced, though. The parts to the right of the "eye" don't seem to fit the picture.

Don is correct, it's a trilobite. The anterior margin, eye and genal spine are more evident with the image decolorized and reoriented.
