JohnJ
The Winner of the February 2015 Invertebrate / Plant Find Of The Month is the Tumidocarcinus giganteus crab from the Miocene Mount Brown Formation of New Zealand! Doctor Mud's crab won the 'Clash of the Crustaceans'! Congratulations on an excellent find and notable preparation on your "third crab". Doctor Mud
Thanks everyone! It surely was a clash of the crustaceans. Bruce's prep is top notch and I aspire to be able to prep to create not just a specimen but a work of art. I got some help from Mother Nature on this one as I was provided with such a complete and nice specimen. Kudos to all the other entries - especially our N hemisphere members who have braved the elements! Thanks also to all TFF members who have helped me with tools, prep techniques and encouragement. It would be a much harder road without you all.

Doctor Mud
Woohoo - well Done mate! Thanks 6ix! I hope the weather is cooling down there so you can access your man-cave again. Although you might feel more like smashing rocks than fine prep work after the cricket ;-)
Doctor Mud
Thanks again everyone. I still look at it every day as I can't believe it is finished, and how lucky I was to have found such a complete crab. Funny - when I broke it open on the beach I wasn't sure I would carry it out as I hadn't reassembled a crab before. But with the help of guys on here it was indeed possible. Good luck to FOTM entries for this month!
