Wist
Thank you all very much. Crinoids are very interesting creatures about which I knew nothing until today! I have not been able to discover the history of crinoids in Lake Ontario but I will keep hunting to see if I can get any idea as to the age of my fossil. Any insight, info or commentary anyone cares to make is most welcome. Again, big thanks for your educated answers!
MarleysGh0st
I have not been able to discover the history of crinoids in Lake Ontario but I will keep hunting to see if I can get any idea as to the age of my fossil. Well, the crinoids predate Lake Ontario by three or four hundred million years! They're probably from the Devonian or Silurian period, although I doubt anyone could make an exact determination of the species, since the few hundred or thousand years the fossils spent in the lake have worn them pretty smooth.
