Micros From Post Oak

Recommended Posts

Finally purchased a new microcope and went to town on some matrix from Post Oak Creek. This was not the richest matrix I have brought home but it did yeild a few firsts for me however and is miles easier to use than iPhone microscope and I think the lighting and pictures are better as well.

Dermal denticles. These are the first I have ever found at Post Oak. Is there any way to tell what they came from?

Last pic looks similar to a Lingula.

Yours are micro these are not.

Have you found any of the "mass" specimen matrix?

FILLED with micro "stuff".

Thank you. They are very similar. Are those Texas finds? I have several bags from all over but really like to pick through local stuff I pick up myself. Sometimes i get lucky, other times not so much. I am strange that way.

Unknown teeth?

I beleive the first tooth is from a Hybodont shark. Most likley Meristodonoides sp. Need to see more views of the second tooth.

I am thinking Cretoxyrhina as well I have found several small ones like that in this matrix before. Thank you for the feedback. I am going to go back through my old finds now with the new microscope and try to get better pictures.
