PrairieHunter
Hi all, I'm traveling to Alberta with my 12 year old son next week and we're hoping to spend a fossil hunting day at the badlands. I hear Alberta has strict rules about fossil hunting, and I would really want to avoid breaking those. I'd appreciate any advice both in terms of what to do and not to do, and especially in terms of where (outside of National Parks) we can go to spend a day in the Badlands... Thanks very much for any help!
JustPlainPetrified
I'd recommend you look at this website with the regulations. https://www.gprc. ab.ca/community/pipestone/psp_members_guide.htm
PrairieHunter
Thank you, Petrified! That's very helpful. I'm a complete newb, so even details and advice that may sound quite commonsense to others can actually be very helpful for me. Appreicated. PrairieHunter
Petrified, I just noticed you live in Alberta! Do you have any suggestions where we should go that would be easy to find fossils but not on protected park lands?
