Al Dente
For the past 4 days I've been doing jury duty at our new county courthouse. The structure has polished limestone panels along all the walls that are Mesozoic, similar to Jurassic stone that is sometimes imported from Spain. I had a lot of free time on my hands during breaks and took several pictures of the fossils. It can be very difficult to get a phone camera to focus on a flat polished surface. Here are several sliced gastropods that are Nerinea or a related genus.
Al Dente
There were also clams, other gastropods and probable rudists. Here a high spired gastropod: There were several fossils that were most likely rudists. Here is a longitudinal section and a cross section:
ynot
You know that You are a rock-hound when You spend more time looking at the marble walls in a building than anything else there! Cool fossils!!! Tony PS Sorry about the jury duty- but at least You can look at some neat fossils while You are there. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Raggedy Man
If you think this is amazing you really should check out John Wayne International Airport in Anaheim,Ca. You can't walk around without stepping on some sort of fossil. Thanks for sharing! Best regards, Paul ...I'm back.

I hope it's not too long. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
ZiggieCie
My service station up the street has fossils in the outside stone walls. I might have to take my camera up there and get a few shots.
Pagurus
The verdict is in and you are sentenced to many happy days of fossil hunting. Start the day with a smile and get it over with.
