Hey everyone. I went to Ramanessin brook today and found this. It is definitely bone and I believe it is a piece of a hadrosaur jaw. I'd love to know what you all think. Thank you!

looks more like a split off piece of a croc or mosasaur jaw to me. I don't think that anyone can tell you definitely what this is. (could be wrong of course!)

I agree with Plax. With a specimen that small, and without any key characteristic features, all you can really say is that it is bone, probably from a marine reptile. It is more likely to be mosasaur/croc than hadrosaur, so that is most likely what it is. Is there anything about it that makes you think it is hadrosaur?

You never know though! Maybe someone will chime in and say otherwise.

I think a closer picture can really help. I can't see the fine details of the bone.

yea ...it would be very hard to say what it is from a small piece of bone.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Yeah I normally wouldn't post a piece of bone this small. It just looks so much like some of the larger hadrosaur jaw pieces I've seen that I had to post it. I also found it interesting that the grain of the bone runs perpendicular to the grooves. Here are some better pics.

I cropped, enlarged, and brightened the pics a bit.
