I found this while looking at rocks used in a train bed and after looking at a bunch of sites, I wanna say this is is part of the Order Redlichiida but that's as far as I got (assuming I'm right on the order)

Hello, and welcome to the Forum. :)

Nice Trilobite!

Love the spiny ones.

Where was this found? (State, county, city?)

Also, what is the size of this trilobite?

That may help narrow down the possibilities.

Regards,

It appears to be a good match for the odontopleurid: Kettneraspis

Lower and Middle Devonian species are reported from New York.

Hey yeah sorry i thought about it today as was like I should have said where it was found.

Location: Callicoon

State: Ny

County: Sullivan County

Size: W= 0.8 cm about and L= 0.9 cm

The rocks thought could have been brought in from either Pennsylvania or somewhere in New York, I have to ask someone or look up to see if I can find where the rocks were brought in from. Whats funny is that I got out of watching Jurassic World in Callicoon and along the same tracks I found horn coral, it was pretty dark and I just look down and saw the shape. I attached a picture of it too

@piranah

You know I looked at that one and I was like....maybe and looking up more pictures of them it seems that it could be a match.

If Scott says it's a Kettneraspis, you can pretty much put money on it.

He is one of our resident experts. :)

Looks like it could be prepped out a bit more.

Great find, for New York!

It's one of the rarer trilobites seen from there.

Thanks for posting it.
