Velociraptor99
Hello fossil forum! I've decided to just start uploading my whole collection as it is very small. Most of this has been purchased, others found by my mother's side of the family, and the rest found by me at the Aurora spoil piles outside the museum, and in the rocks underneath my deck in the backyard. I will be uploading these suckers in waves, because of posting limitations and such. The first one is a uidentified raptor tooth from Tegana formation, in the kem kem basin from Morocco. It's .96 inches long and has a small crack on the front side of the tooth. So I say to you, Ask and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and door will be opened for you. -Jesus Christ
Velociraptor99
Here's another tooth from the same area, presumably from the same species. It's only .68 inches, but is still serrated. So I say to you, Ask and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and door will be opened for you. -Jesus Christ
Velociraptor99
Here's my only trilobite. Not in the best condition. I believe it to be a felixcalymene trilobite. I got it from the Aurora Fossil Museum. Still trying to get a whole/completely intact Eldergerops (I know that's not how you spell it) free from the matrix. As an Ohio collector, that's part of my wildest dreams (corny I know). So I say to you, Ask and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and door will be opened for you. -Jesus Christ
Wrangellian
You shouldn't have any trouble acquiring trilos in that part of the country... am a wrong, anyone?
Velociraptor99
Like I have said in other posts: "No driver's license + parents with very busy schedules= no fossil hunting." Sunday is a 50/50 chance for me to go on my first hunt. If not, I won't be able to go for 4-5 weeks or more. I might not even be able to go at all this summer.... I just happen to live in a part of the state that has no trilos, the closest site with them is 1 1/2 hours away. I was born in a county with nothing interesting, nothing but farmers and suburbs. So I say to you, Ask and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and door will be opened for you. -Jesus Christ
Plantguy
Nice teeth and trilo. You've probably already seen this Ohio Geologic Survey link but I'll post it anyways as I routinely start reading about hunting when I cant get out for whatever the reason--makes me better prepared especially seeing fossil photos of the local material when I do get out somewhere. http://geosurvey.ohiodnr.gov/major-topics/fossils-in-ohio Have you already exhausted looking thru the rocks in the backyard? Good luck when you finally get out. Regards, Chris
-Andy-
Hey I have the same trilobite too. Was in fact my very first one. Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors! Do PM me if you are a Singaporean, or an overseas fossil-collector coming here for a holiday!
Velociraptor99
Thank you Plantguy! Yes I have seen that survey, I always make sure to do my research. Thank you for putting it up there for me, I bookmarked it on my phone (almost always use it for TFF). It's an invaluable resource. I did get to go out on my first hunt and found some nice brachiopods and a possible whole trilobite from the Sylvania Fossil park. Thanks Andy, I've seen your collection topic and man you make me jealous! I'm especially impressed by your collection of the apex predators of the Cretaceous seas, so much so that I've made it my goal to do that as well. I already have a mosasaur tooth (albeit only a 1.6 inch one). I'll probably have to buy the majority of them, or hope I find a job soon so I can have some extra cash to travel to where you found that giant vampire squid pen (that one is my favorite out of your collection). Some day I hope to be as good a fossil hunter as you! The trilobite that we have is very common, especially here in OH, and elsewhere in Morocco. Yet I still love it, as it's my only "almost complete" specimen of a trilobite. I've been a little inactive because of my hunt, a new-found addiction to the Japanese Anime: Soul Eater (now my favorite show! Shame I finished it under 3 weeks.) and a promise I made to myself about not looking at fossils too long each day (I've become obsessed very quickly). I will uploading the rest of my collection soon. Regards, -Anthony So I say to you, Ask and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and door will be opened for you. -Jesus Christ

Regards, -Anthony Hi Anthony, every single fossil in my sea predator set were bought. The credit goes to the true fossil hunters from Morocco, Kansas, Russia and Alabama. I too, am ridiculously obsessed with fossil. I fear this craze will be here for a long time. - Andy Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors!
