Arrggh... I Hate It When This Happens...

I should have taken a photo before I started on this one. All I could see was a few of the "ribs" sticking out of the matrix and it did not look promising. So I dug into it just to see if there was more. Hmm, more segments appear... Hmm well the tail spine is gone, but there is till hope. Alas, when I got to the glabella by fears were realized. Another smoosh headed Huntonia. On the positive side, its the second nicest Huntonia I have discovered in my Thiesen quarry haul and I have plenty of rocks left. And I am getting more practiced at prepping them.

Wow! What a nice preparation and beautiful specimen. I only found Huntonia pygidiums when I hunted the Thiesen quarry. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the other samples you collected.

One of these days, I hope to learn how to prepare specimens like you have done.

Actually, that's a terrific fossil; well done!

Never set the bar so high that you can't enjoy nice finds like these :)

Living in an area where nearly all fossils are empty molds, I would love to find something like that. You have it pretty good where you're hunting!
