I have been trying to id some of the fossils I have been finding through pictures and websites. Being a novice, I just cant seem to come to a easy conclusion so I will have to ask you guys for help.

Here is a fossil(?) I found in south central Kentucky. I believe its a coral but don't know exactly.

It does look like a solitary (rugose) coral fragment (horn coral). It's a cross-section. Southern Kentucky has a variety of ages exposed so I can't guess as to the genus/species. For that, you will need to find out what formation the site is or what horn corals are common in that layer.

I agree with Bill, looks like a horn coral in transversal section.
