fossilsftw
Hi Everyone, It's been a while. I'm still admiring my stegosaurus vertebrae. But, I found something interesting today. I went to a mall and found some fossils for sale and I found this mammoth bone. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. It was found in Wyandotte County, Kansas. Thanks so much! Carl
I definitely see bone but I seriously doubt you could take the ID much further.
RichW9090
A fragment of a vertebra. Of something. The plural of "anecdote" is not "evidence".
Carl
I doubt you could even say with certainty whether it was fossil or modern.
fossilsftw
Thanks for your input, Carl and Rich. I only paid $6 for it. So, it's not a huge loss if it isn't a mammoth bone. Thanks! Erin
amour 25
Hard to say, I have a few mammoth mastodon vert's and most way huge. Could be a big old Bison also. In Kansas can be though. Jeff
