All found by me, none were prepped by me though.

Xipheroceras with Promicroceras, Asteroceras and Cymbites ammonites

My first ever Ichthyosaur vert and one of the best preserved ones I have

This is the internal structure of a Loligosepia Bucklandi, a type of vampyromorph coleoid

SAM_0023.jpg

A double Caenisites. One of my favourite fossils.

SAM_0002.jpg

A naturally red ichthyosaur vert. Never seen one like this. This is the only fossil I've bought.

SAM_0672.jpg

My first decent ammonite, an Asteroceras.

SAM_0564.jpg

My rarest fossil by a long shot. A pliosauromorph plesiosaur basicranium.

SAM_0559.jpg

That's just a few of my favourites. All are from Lyme Regis and are early Jurassic in age.

This is a reindeer metatarsal. Approximately 35,000 years old. Also from Lyme Regis.

A couple more Caenisites

SAM_0026.jpg

This is part of a plesiosaur humerus I believe.

And this was my first plesiosaur vert.

Really nice! It must be great to live close to such an amazing fossil site.

BTW your second-last photo is the same as the last photo.

Thanks for the post. I very much enjoyed viewing your finds.

Outstanding! I'd be chuffed with any one of them :)

Thanks for posting these. I just re-connected with fossil hunting a few years ago because of a fictional book about Mary Anning of Lyme Regis. That Loligosepia bucklandi you posted reminded me of William Buckland, who described the species after it was found by Anning. I think he also coined the term "coprolite". I only have one tiny ammonite from Lyme Regis in my small collection but someday with a little luck maybe I'll get to visit there myself. It's high on my list. Thanks again for sharing your collection.

Excellent. Thanks for sharing.

My mother is from London and when we first visited the UK (I was 13) I had a wish list of things to see...Natural History Museum, Stonehenge, Greenwich Observatory, Tower of London...and... Lyme Regis!

Lyme Regis and the coast was a hundred times better than expected. One of the best days of my youth.

  • 6 months later...

Been a while since I've added anything. Got a few really nice pieces coming back from prep soon. Here's a few new additions.

Xipheroceras

A few perfect ichthyosaur vertebrae

One of my favourite fossils, a very rare Apoderoceras

This needs cleaning, but I'm pretty sure it's another Apo.

Thanks very much. If anything, it should be quite a bit better. The prepped one is just the front. The back is pretty much entirely worn through. Luckily the front is perfect. This new one has rock on both sides, so I'm thinking of getting it cleaned both sides. Pricey, but it'll make it quite a special fossil.
