I believe these are Neuropteris fern pinnules, but correct me if I'm wrong. USGS map says the location was "Allegheny and Pottsville Formations, Undivided" and that it is Pennsylvanian in age.

I would say you are correct with your ID.

Jack's book 'Mazon Creek Flora' is a good reference for Pennsylvanian flora. It doesn't cover everything, but it does have details about how to properly ID ferns, even very similar species. And it doesn't break the bank, like some references.
