Since you have a great deal of experience in the acquisition of Keichousarus specimens and are closer than most to the source; perhaps you would be willing to share the evaluation criteria that you apply to insure that a piece is legitimate and of good quality. Thanks. Thanks.Other than the sophisticated methods of X-ray , UV lights etcMy first tell tale signs or judgement is by the Anatomy especially on the toe digits first . The real digits are consistently uniform in shape , precise straight edges compared to the painted ones. From my 2 diagrams , the red arrows indicate the original toe digits and the blue arrows indicate painted restored ones In my opinion , if such specimen has gone thru the extent of painting the toe digits, highly chances other parts might be restored . And I will avoid purchasing such. I will try to do another illustration on the skulls later

snolly50
Excellent information. Your photos well illustrate the symmetry of the natural bone vs the faux digits. Thank you, I look forward to any more insights you may provide. This type of information will be helpful to many who seek to add one of these intriguing fossils to their collection.
