visceral_verve
Hey guys, This is my first post here. Have been reading the forums for a while. I had the opportunity to acquire this Selenopeltis from morocco. The details look right (e.g. 8 thoracic segments, surface details look authentic with smooth and rough areas, glabellar furrows are right shape). But I haven't seen one in real life, so I thought I'll like to tap on your collective wisdom. What do you think? Thanks! LordTrilobite
Welcome to the forum! I'd say this one looks real. There are a lot of small details you often don't see on the lower quality replicas. BUT, I can see a little bit of restoration. On the fourth photo on the bottom left and the last photo on the bottom left I can see some discolouration that is definitely filled in. If you look closely you can see air bubbles in those areas. So it's possible that there is some restoration on the Trilobite. Edited August 11, 2015 by LordTrilobite Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite

sseth
To me it looks real. You can see some restoration but it looks as though the resto is along lines where the rock was split in finding the little guy in the first place. It looks like a good trilobite. _____________________________________ Seth www.fossilshack.com www.americanfossil.com www.fishdig.com
Olenoides
I concur with the others here, looks real with some minor restoration. Good find as Selenopeltis tends to be one of the most faked Moroccan trilobites out there.
visceral_verve
Thanks guys. I've decided the get the trilobite. Happy that I managed to finally find a decent Selenopeltis. There are way too many fakes out there!
