Nice job, they make really prety ornaments.

Are the original fossils of the ammonites of French origin?

Isn’t the second one from the left an Amaltheus sp. ?

Greetings

Kevin

Right Kevin ! It is an Amaltheus margaritatus from the Causses near Millau (Aveyron)

Ah I knew it :D , I have a few of those that I collected near Millau when I was a kid, we were on holiday in the Causse du larzac.

It is a wonderful location to collect those pyritised ammonites.

It is now forbidden to collect ammonites in this area. Too much people destroyed and plunder these rich places. I collected them 30 years ago !

That's a shame we can't collect there anymore. It has also been a long time ago that I went in that region, more than 20 years ago.

seems like a lot of locations in France tend to close to the public recently due to inapropriate collecting behavior :(

Welcome on this marvelous forum. Where are you in France ? The name of our country is so vague, you risk nothing here ! :)
