Grimlock Posted September 1, 2015 Share Posted September 1, 2015 Hello everyone, I am posting a few pictures of a phalanx that I found quite awhile ago in the Peace river. I think I have a good idea about what it came from, but I want to get some feedback on the id from the experts. The length of the fossil was measured at 2.4 in (6.1 cm), the height of the distal end measured 0.7 in (1.8 cm), and the height of the proximal end is 1.5 in (3.8 cm). Grimlock Posted September 2, 2015 Author Share Posted September 2, 2015 I have seen that picture and the phalanx I found is definitely a little larger than the one they have measured on it, but it really is a dead ringer for the proximal phalanx in the picture. The issue I have, when comparing it to cow/bison, is that they're proximal phalanges are wider in comparison to their length (thicker overall). But, overall, they are fairly similar so it is kind of hard to say. My pictures might not be doing it justice, also.
