garyc
I couldn't believe this was sitting right on top of the sand. I almost tripped over it! This is quite a bit larger than other mammoth verts I've found and definitely more intact.

This is quite a bit larger than other mammoth verts I've found and definitely more intact. Congrats. Great inspiration for all of us. There are great specimens to be found in front of our nose. I have often thought about my best 5 finds ever....and 4 of them were suddenly 'just there', while walking back to the vehicle, taking time to look at something in Nature, etc. They involved taking a break from my usual intense staring at an exposure. Perhaps our mind relaxes and we're more open to seeing the obvious that is around us.
JohnJ
That is really funny, Ziggie, where do You come up with them? He just calls 'em like he reads 'em. Gary, that's a beautiful vertebra. Way to go! The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ
