the Indiana Geological Survey site has several downloadable papers/pamphlets on fossil plants.

I'll check out the Richard Leary papers to see if there is something similar.

It looks Noeggerathian, a group that includes the Paleopteridium that you've been finding. also includes Tingia.

For other folk who want to download. Here's a link to Leary & Pfefferkorn, 1977.

Here's Leary's 1985 that covers some of the same plants in another location in Illinois.

These two papers have been very helpful in understanding the Flora that Sherry has been finding. Many are "Upland" so aren't found in the common lowland coal deposits.
