Otodusobliquus
First some Aquia formation fossils. The matrix these came from was collected from a beach on the Potomac river. I have searched about a half gallon to find these. Second picture is fish material, as far as better Ids go I am unsure. The first is ray teeth. Otodusobliquus
Some shark teeth now. The first picture shows one very nice Pachygaleus lefevrei at the top, along with teeth that could be Galeorhinus or Palaeogaleus. The second shows the single posterior Heterodontus I have found. The last shows some various sand tigers. I think the containers these teeth are in are 1 3/8 across for scale.
Otodusobliquus
More shark teeth. First pic is Squalus and Megasqualus, the second shows Squatina, and the third is of teeth that as far as I can tell could be Triakis, Scyliorhinus, Premontreia, or Abdounia. Most likely several are of those are present.
Mediospirifer
Nice collection! Do you know if this is the same fauna as found in the Lee Creek material? A lot of those teeth look familiar.
Auspex
Nice collection! Do you know if this is the same fauna as found in the Lee Creek material? A lot of those teeth look familiar. Chalk that up to the persistence of basic shark tooth design; the Aquia formation is Paleocene, considerably older than Lee Creek.
