PaleoRon Posted September 22, 2015 Share Posted September 22, 2015 For quite a few years Dr. Robert Weems has been the recipient of the majority of my fossil reptile finds, primarily marine turtle and crocodile. He has published multiple papers on fossil turtles and other reptiles. Although many of my finds have been "interesting", one find has turned out to be a new species. It was named Chrysemys isoni and is related to pond turtles. This is a bit unusual due to the offshore nature of the formation that the specimen came from.Terrestrial material is very rare to find in the marine deposits of Virginia and Maryland.
