Miatria
Hi! I have a big road trip coming up to visit family in Kansas City, Missouri (driving from Florida) and as usual I'm scouting for some spots to hunt fossils (or cool rocks!) along the way. If anyone could share directions to a site, I would greatly appreciate it. Any fossil will do! :-) Zookeeperfossils.com
Raggedy Man
There are some road cuts in KC. I'm no help with Georgia. Maybe check the US Fossil site and see if any are still accessible. Good luck and be careful in KC... Best regards, Paul ...I'm back.
Sacha
When are you planning on being near Valdosta, GA? Are you taking your kayak? There is coral waiting!!
ashcraft
I assume that you will be driving on I-55, there is a guide book, "geology of Interstate 55" or some such. It lists rock formations, and fossils found, with mile markers. Also google Eastern Missouri Society for Paleontology. They list a number of spots on their web page. Miatria
Thank you for the suggestions. I should also add Alabama to the list. Sacha, I wasn't planning on taking the kayak and gear but it would certainly be a good opportunity. I'll message for details.
