North Sulphur River - 9-27-15 - Cephalopod Central!

On Sunday I followed up on a tip I found in my research on the North Sulphur River.

The riverbed near my entry point. Lots of exposed limestone.

You can follow the limestone layers as they drop down out of the bank & into the riverbed.

I had been wanting some of the red cephalopod fossils from the Sulphur, and this was my very first! A nice little baculite mold.

Post-cleanup on the final specimen of the trip.

Well, that covers it! STILL no mosasaur finds, but I certainly got my fill of the red cephalopods! A very productive day!
