Guest GemstoneAndFossil
I have two shark teeth , one I bought in a necklace the smaller one about 6 years ago in grand bend Ontario , the other was given too me as a gift from family in british Columbia . I was just wondering are they even real ? I remember thinking it could just be a racoon tooth but I honestly never knew anything about fossils or sharks in the past etc I always thought it was a gimmick but I didn't mind . So now here is some pictures sorry I have no locations or anything to help with as both were bought .

mrieder79
Definitely real shark teeth. The smaller looks to be sand tiger and the larger possibly a lower mako. Luck is the most important skill of a fossil diver.
Guest GemstoneAndFossil
are they fossils or possibly living shark teeth ?
FossilDAWG
They are certainly real, shark teeth are common enough in certain areas that no-one needs to fake them, except maybe (rarely) the huge Megalodon teeth. Even those are not faked so much as massively restored. Your teeth are also a bit worn and have a bit of the root missing, faked teeth would be more "perfect". They are fossils, as modern shark teeth are white. Don
