old dead things
Setting up at the fossil and rock shows is quite a task for me. Pictured below is the before and after photos at Albuquerque last weekend. I have approximately 60 feet of table space. It took almost a full eleven hours to set up. Also I eluded to in another thread of an impending road trip through South Dakota and Minnesota next week and thought I might take a few fossil fish along to sell as I go. It wouldn't take much to add a few unprepped fossil fish if anyone is interested in something to prep that is along the way or anything else you might be interested in. Drop me a PM or add to the thread and lets see if we could meet up. The basic plan is Rapid City to Pierre to St. Paul, but I will be around Minnesota collecting as well. Doctor Mud
Thanks Jim, I have a new appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes and maybe a hankering for some fried fish :-)
Nandomas
I always love to see setting up scenes I know how much work is behind a fossil show Edited October 9, 2015 by Nandomas Erosion... will be my epitaph! http://www.paleonature.org/ https://fossilnews.org/
Auspex
Having set-up, exhibited, and packed back up at many birding festivals over the years, I can attest to the ridiculous amount of work it is. I decided after the big Florida last January that I am too old for this stuff any more; it was my last. Pagurus
That's a great display, Jim. I only wish you were passing through Massachusetts. I'll get out to your beautiful part of the country one of these days, I hope. I want to find some of those fried fish. I've set up at a few book fairs but rocks are even heavier than books! Like Chas said, I hope it's still enjoyable for you despite all the hard and heavy work. I hope it's a great success. Mike Start the day with a smile and get it over with.
