Finally organizing our finds

I'm finally getting around to organizing what we've found and been given so far. Nothing spectacular - some inexpensive containers and cabinet liners. I need to get to the craft store as I think batting would fair better than the liner (but the liner is serving it's purpose for now). The containers fit nicely stacked by two on the bottom shelf of my coffee table. :) Being that they are semi transparent, that makes for a decent "display". I need a couple more for bigger items I have that are not pictured here (larger bones and vertebrae) and I have some more shells and coral that need to be washed so they are not included either.

I don't know when I will be able to hunt for fossils again with the flooding being the way it is. I was going to give it a go this weekend but there are some areas being evacuated as more water moves in to the Lowcountry from flooding in the mid- and upstate. My heart truly goes out to the people that have lost so much and continue to loose their homes and more during this time. :(

I've found several nice display cases at resell stores like goodwill and others. Typically they're really cheap and a better alternative to buying them new.

Stay safe in SC the end of the flooding is far from over.

Best regards,

Paul

Paul, thanks for the tip! I'll hit up the Goodwill next time I go out. Might try looking at pawn shops too, though I'm cautious with them.

Ziggie, thanks! :) I've been out about five times now. Couple ditch/creek surface hunts and some digging trips. It really is addicting. :) I love that my 9 year old has fallen in love with it though our last trip proved too difficult for him. It was truly challenging and I'm proud of him for sticking it out. He told me he's excited for *me* to go out there again when I can! LOL :P Cheeky fellow. ;)

Nice collection, one think I do is use glue dots that are removable and keep both the liner and the fossil in place, thanks for sharing.

Regards

Mike

Great idea! Thanks. :) Wouldn't you know it, later that evening I was sitting down at my desk and I found a container with more fossils!!!! LOL Hoping to hunting tomorrow. With some luck I might have some really good finds to add to our collection courtesy all the floods we had recently. People have been posting some great finds the past couple weeks.
