We discovered a Deinotherium fossil in Romania!

Hello from Barlad, Romania!

I have the pleasure to announce that an important frament of Deinotherium sp. was discovered recently by my friend and menthor dr. Lauretiu Ursachi from Vasile Parvan Museum (Barlad, Romania). This is the second Deinotherium discovered in Romania since the one found by G. Stefanescu in 1894.

I just got in Romania about 2 months ago, wish i can go and find some stuff myself or at least see some things.

Thank you, guys! Yes, it was really a great one!

The discovery was made in Gherghesti and that`s really close to Stefanescu`s site: Manzati.

The site is in the margin of a country road and any other people who was passing by with the cart, thought the bones were just big stones and didn`t give them any attention.The framents of the jaw were really at the surface as if they were waiting to be identified.

Edd, if you come back and can pass through Barlad just give me a sign, OK?
