White Mound mystery fossils

Hello fellow FF members.

I'm wondering whether anyone might have an idea what, if anything, these strange little nodules are.

The specimen is a small slab, roughly 9.5cm long along its longest edge. The nodules are 3-4 mm in diameter, very slightly conical rising from the base, and 2-4 mm in height. Under the microscope, there's not much to see: no pores or other structures on the surface.

These come from the famous White Mound site in OK, so they're Devonian, Haragan Fm.

Thanks for any help!

I wonder whether a micro thin section might tell something, either with the presence or absence of organized structure...

Just on outward appearance, the first thing that comes to mind is a bed of fecal pellets.
