whowat13
I was going through a bucket of "scrap" material that I was thinking about donating to a local fossil club for kids' digs, and found this. I am unsure of where in the river this was found, but I am now curious as to what type of animal it came from. My personal thought is that it may be from a Shasta Ground sloth, but would like some more opinions on it. I know that it is incomplete, but am still very hopeful to get a positive ID. Thank you in advance for your help. -Bill I have two more views... I will add them in a comment.

Harry Pristis
Yeah, I don't see anything that suggests a sloth claw core. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
whowat13
It doesn't show well in the photos, but it does look (at least to me) like it did articulate. It is more visible when you are holding it. But, now I can't find where I set it down at. Oh, well... Thank you for your opinions. I still think it may be something, but I could be wrong (I have been before). -Bill
