I had a good day fossil hunting North Sulphur River creeks. I found Xiphactinus jaw pieces, skull bones, Mosasaur verts and what I think is a worn Mosasaur or Plesiosaur bone. The large jawbone has 14 sockets for teeth and 6 partial teeth.

Way to go man killer day!

Thanks John. I saw your killer find and it made me want to try again. I wanted to stay longer as I was still finding stuff but had to be back home early. lol

Y'all are killing it out there! Wish I was a little closer. The rain has been good to you and bad for me. River levels have stayed too high for too long.

The large bone I was unsure of has been identified as a Plesiosaur propodial. :)

Okay...wow! Nice finds. Too frozen up here to do anything but drool on yours and others finds. But then again, it was almost melting today. Played pond hockey for two hours. We let the beavers alone in their lodge on the bank nearby. Come on Spring!

Thanks Joe. That one complete vert was fresh out of the matrix and the other one is almost 3 inches tall.

I like the mosey vertebra more, but I know the fish jaw is a good collection addition. Nice!

I would say that when I first started, I picked up everything and then some. Now I actually leave things behind unless it adds to a collection. Not that anyone will find it, but it is there if they go. After finding the globidens, I lost some interest in the individual pieces, but enjoy the hunt. I have not had much creek luck yet, but will keep at it. It is just so easy to go hunt the Sulphur. Can't apologize for living an hour from the fun, but would gladly show people around that aren't from around here if schedules work out. Everyone should be able to go there and walk away with something.

I agree that place is something else. We are very lucky to have it close by. Hope you do well!
