Again a few crustaceans: these species are common in the Solnhofen Lagerstätten but their preservation never ceases to amaze me.

A beautiful 3 foot-long Chimera from the Jurassic:

Along with some exceptionaly preserved fish.

The museum is still funding excavations, and several local collectors have put their recent discoveries on display. In the last three pictures the fish were found in the last two or three years. The preservation is amazing.

And to top it all... On the way out there's a few rooms with archaeological material from the Paleolithic to the 19th century... With a mammoth found in a cave in he area!
