MarielleK
So I came across a seller with this trilobite. I am purely interested in wether it is authentic or not. I am no expert, but the lighter color of the matrix around the trilobite seemed suspicious to me. The seller has advertised the fossil as a complete and genuine. Troodon
I think it's real, maybe some enhancements around the end some spines. Let's see what others say this is always very subjective.
Raggedy Man
Looks real to me with some minor restoration. The light area around the trilobite is from the preparation of the specimen. Best regards, Paul ...I'm back.
RJB
Looks real. Also kinda looks like it has been added to the bigger rock? Hard to tell. Those tool marks could be just tool marks or be hiding the attachment? RB
LordTrilobite
I agree, real with some possible minor restoration. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
MarielleK
What is this crack here? It looks as though it's been glued...
jpc
Good eye... gluing pieces that break off is part of the prep procedure.
MarielleK
Is there any way to hide the glue that dripped into the matrix?
LordTrilobite
Carefully scraping some of the glue should hide it a little. But you'll probably never completely get rid of the line where it was glued. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
