MarielleK
So this is some coral I found in Florida near Clearwater beach. I'm trying to find out more about it. I had posted it in a form before, but did not find out as much as I wanted to. I am specifically looking for information about what is outlined in red in the picture below, but any information will help. Thank you very much! SteveS
Looks like a large rugose coral among a colony of rugose corals. I don't know much more than that about them.
MikeR
It could be an infilled burrow. Various organisms burrow within living coral most notably certain genera of bivalvia. MarielleK
Is there any way to polish it or make the coral more noticeable or better looking then it is currently?
