Shark Tooth?

I was wondering if this is a real shark's tooth. It could be fossilized, but it feels so rock-like, I wonder if it could be an old carving.

My grandmother gave this to me years ago. I remember her saying she found it on a beach and I'm assuming Myrtle Beach, SC since she rarely left the state.

Welcome to the forum. What size is it and can we see a side picture want to see how thick it is. The ribbing on the first picture is not a shark feature.

I am not so sure it is a tooth. I dont really see any enamel, but the pictures are not in great focus when enlarged. I think it is a piece of bone in a tooth shape.

I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt

A close up of the first picture looks like it has bone like cell structure. I would say a worn bone chip. Only suggestively shaped like a shark tooth.
