wetwilly
Hi, Was apprehensive on posting this , but I couldn't help thinking it might be something. The texture and appearance is not like anything I have found in the brooks. Before I cleaned it up. After cleaning. I will post an end view as well... Thanks for the help, Bill Bill

supertramp
Just wanted to be sure, Thanks for the help. Bill Is there any ophiolitic melange outcropping there?
frankh8147
I believe it to be concretion; Big Brook is famous for those things.
wetwilly
Well, I did a brief research on ophiolitic melange outcroppings in New Jersey and I didn't see anything that pertains. It is a stranger than usual find (for me) but I know from all the concretions curiously pulled from the brook, it is probably just another example of such. And by the way frank8147, nice multi tooth Enchodus dentary! Bill Bill
frankh8147
Thanks on the Enchodus Bill! Concretions cost me hours of my time haha..some of the textures look so close to bone that I just can't throw them away! Big Brook is tough!
jpevahouse
Big Brook has an unlimited number of interesting concretions, many of which look somewhat like bone or tooth.
