LanceH
What is this tooth from? It's from the Eagleford formation (Kamp Ranch?) in North Texas.

LanceH
What age is it it almost looks like a small mososaur tooth. Cenomanian age. I know just after the Kamp Ranch deposition period Mosasaurs were just a few feet long. The Dallasaurus Turneri was found just above the Kamp Ranch layer. geofossil
I looked at the photo without reading the description and my first thought was : "that's a nice theropod tooth"....but you probably ruled that out. Then it looked like some of the Cretaceous recurved croc teeth we find. BUT...is this a marine deposit? Something like the fish, Xiphactinus (spelling?)...but your specimen is more refined looking. The specimen is in matrix and probably difficult to judge but can you tell if it is 'flattened' or round in shape through the axis? It's a great specimen whatever it is and especially interesting the way it's preserved in the sediment.
