HikerJP
Hello all, I'm still a newbie to all this so I was hoping that some of you may know some different entry locations for Post Oak Creek in Sherman, Texas. I have entered at the Travis St Bridge and the Sherman Healthcare Center. The Healthcare Center was recommended by a local I ran into on my last trip. He said he has entered there regularly so I gave it a shot. There was a lot of glass and trash in that location so extra caution should be taken in that area. Can anybody recommend any other entry locations? Hiking is not huge concern I was just hoping for ideas. Has anyone ever parked at Binkley Park and searched Sand Creek? Is there anywhere around Post Oak that is unfriendly to hunters? I promise to leave some teeth for all the other hunters out there (but I would love to find my first arrowhead). Thanks in advance. DPS Ammonite
Check out the frontage road along the west side of highway 75 on Google Earth between the 2 sites that you mentioned. You will find several access points including the frontage road and the creek. 1 My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. John S.
You've got a maze of creeks in Sherman. All of them should hold a good amount of points. I would just focus on the largest gravel bars and bounce around. Use google earth to map a plan. There's a lot of trial and error with points because you have to locate campsite areas to have the best luck so I'd move around. The good news is once you locate these areas you can return time after time. Good luck and post if you find any. 1 North Central Texas Eagle Ford Group / Ozan Formation

It's even more challenging locating campsite areas at NSR considering how much the river has changed over time but the gravel bars still hold treasures. JohnJ
True that. God only knows where those were. Many, if not most, artifact origins are literally points in space (no pun intended ) due to erosion and moving channels. 1 The human mind has the ability to believe anything is true. - JJ
