mblbirch01
I found this in Cannon Falls, MN, in Galena Limestone (Ordovician, calm marine environment). Any ideas?
Raggedy Man
Hello and welcome to the forum. To me that looks like a chert nodule. Best regards, Paul ...I'm back.
abyssunder
For me looks septarian nodule. minnbuckeye
Lingula brachiopod???? I have stumbled onto a few and this looks similar. Only a guess.
Fossildude19
I see what appear to be hinge-like lines on the side of it - my first thought was internal mold of a brachiopod/pelecypod. I've marked what I am seeing here. Also brightened and enlarged the other pics a bit. abyssunder
Reexamining the pictures, I remain in the septarian thought, comparing with the specimen from this older post : http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/37853-pseudofossil/ " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
