Thanks for posting this. I hope people use it and use it well. And I will just add that I have seen soooo many posts lately with lousy photos that I just skip them altogether

Great tutorial!

The only thing I would do differently is not use the eye dropper tool for the white point as in a few cases you could lose information in the highlights of the image, you may not have a decent white spot to choose from. I would do exactly as Andy has done with the black point for the white point. That is move the left hand slider along to the right to the start of the bottom of the histogram.

And don't be tempted to click the 'auto' button!

Thank you both for this post. I normally take what we will call "Less than par" shots with my point and shoot camera. I just got an IPad and will be taking better pictures, hopefully.
