I had a short but good hunt today at the North Sulphur River Texas. I found Cretaceous, Pleistocene and Middle Archaic items. NSR has it all.

I especially like the fossil concrete in photo #1. How long was your "short" trip? I usually come away with half a dozen pieces after a full day at the NSR!

6 hrs. Normally I do all day since I'm 2 hrs away. My average is one good find per hour. Edited by JarrodB

Very nice! You always find so much in such a short period of time. I'm lucky if I find one good find in a whole day. I am not an expert on points but that kind of looks like a Gary.

At NSR you never know what you will find. I have slow days also but I always come back with something cool. Gary was my guess at first on the point but I had some old pros ID it as Wells.

post-19191-0-27602300-1458698754_thumb.jpg I thought this was Xiphactinus at first but turns out it's part of a Mosasaur jaw. Now I just need to find the rest. :)

I would say Wells. They tend to be longer and more slender than a Gary.

More importantly, a Wells point should have some evidence of 'ground edges' on the stem. Shape, alone, can be deceptive.
