Awesome day at Calvert Cliffs

It was a beautiful day today. Decided to spend it the right way and do some fossil collecting. Came out with my best Megalodon from the cliffs ever!

That is one pretty tooth! Congrats! :fistbump: Love the in situ too :)

Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!

Great find! Thanks for the in situ pic as well. It's nice to see the fossil site through your eyes and dream of getting there someday.

Sweet tooth! Thanks for the in situ photo--feels like I can reach out and pull the tooth out of the photo.

Cheers.

So it looks like you pulled it from the cliff. How did you first notice it? Was it at eye level or near the beach? I want DETAILS!

I noticed a root lobe sticking out as I was scanning for easy shell pickings. The tooth was about at my hip level.

Makes you wonder how many people must have walked past that, maybe even directly looking at it without recognizing it.
