Found This Also Today And Dont Know What It Is.

Found This Today as well. Both this and the peice that I posted before where found in Kingston, NY I looked in the NY Fossil book but cant find either in it.

I would say this looks like a coral, what age are the deposits Silurian? Does the structure have any depth into the matrix or is it just on the surface?

Yes it goes into the structure a bit. I think it is the Devonian??? Deposits

Can't tell size, but looks like a feeding structure off of an archimedes screw to me.

i would dare say it is an encrusting bryozoan. judging from the jeans in the background for size. i find alot of stuff like that in the carboniferous near my home in Utah. but don't rule out a type of coral. sometimes they can be very difficult to distinguish.
