Triasic Virginia in the Solite Quarry

As I mentioned in my last post, the Cincinnati Dry Dredgers now have a members blog to record our fossil hunting trips. I was there a few years ago... I heard that the quarry recently dug through this very layer and made it not so convenient... even impossible to collect.

What I've heard and seen, that is an amazing site. It certainly is a privilege to visit there and help with the collection. Curious how they (VNHM) prep their specimens. I have a number of Triassic coelacanth fossils from New Jersey that require prepping to fully expose.
