Quartz Geode Fossil

I found this fossil in Liberty Hill, Texas, and am hoping to determine what it is. I thought it was petrified wood at first but someone suggested coral - which would make sense as there are many shell fossils in the area. I wasn't able to find another fossil like it online, either wood or coral. It seems to be a 3" section of a twisted branch and there are a couple of areas on the outside where something seems to have been attached, maybe barnacle or lichen. The inside is lined with crystals and a bright light will show through the sides so it appears the entire fossil is quartz.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
