Image 1: The rear legs are to far up the spine, and the back plates go all the way down to the end of the tail. Image 2: The shading of the back plates is wrong and the plates are all the same size. Other than that I think that the specimens are composites of several species put together to make them appear more saleable. Such things should be banned from sale. caldigger Posted May 9, 2016 Share Posted May 9, 2016 I had a guy come up to me at the last show and asked what I thought of the trilobite he purchased. I said without a pause that he had a fake reproduction trilo. He seems kinda peeved. He said he paid a whole $10. for it. I just chuckled. I could tell he had just gotten it from a Chinese dealer across the isle from me. The dealer had a big box of the exact same ones, identical to one another. There were lots of different sizes, but each trilobite of the same category had exactly the same size, they were all very well polished, not natural at all.
